The SVGB (Swiss Association of Violin and Bow Makers) is an association of violin makers, bow makers and companies active in construction, restoration and trade (primarily in Switzerland). It’s aim is to safeguard and promote the economic and professional interests of its members. The association was founded in 1920. Since that time, it has supported the basic and continuing professional training of violin makers and has advised its members in factual and legal matters. It also promotes the exchange of information among members and maintains contacts with professional associations in Switzerland and abroad.
